Kayla, my oldest. She is 4 1/2 and is a sweet, loving and silly little girl. She took us 2 ½ years and 3 IVF’s to conceive. Kayla is allergic to dairy. We manage her allergy and work to balance her safety with giving her a normal childhood. Kayla loves to read books and play games - she amazes me every day.

Alysa, my youngest. She is 3 years old and is a silly little spitfire. She’s our monkey and loves to climb on everything. She was a “natural” baby, but it was only b/c of my wonderful doctors that we were able to stop an impending miscarriage. Alysa suffers from Acid Reflux Disease and sleep apnea. She may be little, but she has a big personality. She adores her big sister and is so much fun to be around. She keeps me laughing every day.

Napping in her Big Girl Bed?
Well, we had a very peaceful night last night. Kayla slept great and woke up happy as a clam in her new bed. And...she never left her bed, not even when she woke up. I was surprised, but not expecting it to stay that way.

Good think I didn't. B4 her nap, I again told her to stay in bed and go to sleep. Well, when I got downstairs and turned on the monitor, her bed was empty. Shocking, I know. :) I'm so glad I have the video monitor. It was so cute to watch her in and out of the bed and to hear her playing even though I can't see her all around her room. J was sure she would not nap at all today. But after an hour and 45 minutes of playing (and 2 visits from me), she got in her bed and fell asleep. She has been sleeping for 2 hours now.

So there is still hope for her naps after all.

At one point, I even heard her up there telling herself "It's Saturday. It's Saturday". That is because I've been telling her that on Saturday, we are going to see Elmo. :)

Those video monitors are so cool! Isn't it so fun to watch them when they have no clue you are?
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the girls and Elmo!

*sigh* She's so easy in some ways, isn't she? It must feel great since she's got the allergy thing that keeps you hopping!

oh the transition to the "big girl bed" was so "fun"! LOL My Kayla would get out of bed at nap time to play too, I finally stood outside of her room where she could see me and within minutes she was asleep. It only took a few days of doing and now she doesn't get out of bed at all anymore.
