Kayla
Kayla, my oldest. She is 4 1/2 and is a sweet, loving and silly little girl. She took us 2 ½ years and 3 IVF’s to conceive. Kayla is allergic to dairy. We manage her allergy and work to balance her safety with giving her a normal childhood. Kayla loves to read books and play games - she amazes me every day.

Alysa
Alysa, my youngest. She is 3 years old and is a silly little spitfire. She’s our monkey and loves to climb on everything. She was a “natural” baby, but it was only b/c of my wonderful doctors that we were able to stop an impending miscarriage. Alysa suffers from Acid Reflux Disease and sleep apnea. She may be little, but she has a big personality. She adores her big sister and is so much fun to be around. She keeps me laughing every day.

Thirteen Things I Did Today

1. Drove to work – 20 miles, 30 minutes, One $2 toll
2. Walked into work into a completely dark office – there was apparently a power outage
3. Stood around with my coworkers speculating on what happened and how long they’d make us stand around until they sent us home
4. Listened as they told us we could go home at 9am, but if they called later when the power came back on, we had the choice to stay home and use a vacation day or come back in for 3 more hours and get paid a full day.
5. Drove home – 20 miles, 30 minutes, No toll
6. Sat on the floor of my family room as Kayla & Alysa fought over my lap and climbed all over me; You’d think I had been gone for a month, not the 2 hours and 15 minutes it really was
7. Gave the girls their snack – my “free” day turned into J’s “free” day – how does that happen anyway??? ;)
8. Took the girls to the park with J – blissful family time!!!
9. Listened to Kayla ask for the “big fish” over and over again – this fish is at the park near my Sister’s house in Ohio, not at our park
10. Gave the girls lunch and put them down for naps
11. Repeatedly went up to Kayla’s room to sooth her crying and help her try to go poops on the potty – maybe it’s time to get rid of the crib? She was so upset and so trying not to go in her pull-up; Pooping on the potty is a long process but one she will keep working out until she achieves success
12. Finally relaxed at 2pm and started to work on dinner preparations
13. Got the phone call at 2:20pm and headed back to work at 2:30 – 20 miles, 30 minutes, One $2 toll… (vacation time is precious in our household and must be preserved at all costs…)

What a wonderful way to spend the day! There is nothing like spending time with the children. Because you went back in for the rest of the day you were paid while spending time with the children. Hubby's work is the same way. If they make the drive in the winter storms and get sent home they get paid for the day. The ones that don't show up do not get paid for the day. My Hubby is from Ohio.
Terrific Thursday Thirteen!
Thank you for your visit.
Have a wonderful day!
Happy TT'ing!

You have beautiful children! Cherish every minute you have with them. Too bad your employer called you back...
Enjoyed my visit to your site! You had a busy, yet wonderful day.

Poor Kayla! SHe's really taking to this potty thing! I would definitely think about a bed at this point. She won't necessarily go on her own yet, but it will make her feel less "trapped" if she does have to go.

Glad you got unexpected family time today!

Don't toll roads get annoying?! Livign in Orlando, its almost a daily occurance. I luckily don't have to pay any, but I have an hour drive because traffic on the surface roads is a pain! Nice list
