Where did my Kayla go?
For those who know her, know that Kayla is both a Mama's Girl and very shy around those she does not know. I'm lucky if she says "hi" to a store clerk, etc. She will usually say "good bye" though. :) Well, tonight I had my dental cleaning and I took her with me so she could observe and hopefully get a tooth cleaned on my next visit in June. I even dragged poor J and Alysa with me as back-up. I was afraid that not only would she be scared of my Dentist, but also be afraid of the buzzing tools, etc. This would not be surprising, as she is scared of my Dancing Frosty Christmas decoration.
Anyway, she was wonderful. I am not sure what happened to my baby and I don't often recognize this little Girl in front of me. She was personable with the receptionist and dentist. She did turn away from him a couple times, but she smiled and showed him her teeth. And she sat and watched attentively and unafraid as he cleaned my teeth. Amazing!
We got good news that as far as he can see, her one front tooth is ok. She had banged it pretty bad about 5 months ago and it is darker than her others (tooth bruising), but so far it looks ok otherwise. We just hope it stays that way until it falls out.
So tonight was a pleasant surprise. And she's still talking about Santa's presents. Again, who is this Kid and what did she do with my Baby?

Oh, love the new blog design! Too cute! Kayla is growing up. Sniff...
When I was with the girls this past weekend, I kept saying that I couldn't believe how big Kayla is getting - that she's is a "kid" now. So exciting and sad all at the same time.
