A neighborhood of crim
That would be where we live. Yup, there are thieves among us. J called me this morning after he was at work to tell me his car was broken into last night. Thankfully it looks like kids since the only things missing were a couple dollar bills and his change. But he said they ransacked his glove box and threw everything out of it. His expensive stereo and Sirius radio was left in tact. His trunk was rifled through also. My van was left alone because it was locked. Although we're thankful no serious damage was done, it made me really nervous b/c if you get in our car, you can get in the house. We have the garage door opener which leads to the house. I've been after J for a while to always lock his car. But part of this is also that his car is old - he said he locked it, but the passenger door is faulty and did not lock. Such is what you get with a 10 year old car with over 200,000 miles on it. *sigh*
At least we're not alone though, since the rif raff got our whole street. Again, only took cash, if any - left the GPS systems and the ipods, golf clubs, etc. Stupid kids if you ask me - why wouldn't you take the ipod? Then again, that would be harder to explain to Mom and Dad. J did call the police and will be filing a report, but I told him he should have had them come out first thing and taken my car to work. He should also have taken pictures of the mess they made of his car.
I doubt J will be leaving his cash in the car anymore too.

Our neighborhood is starting to get rift raft moving in and it makes me nervous. We have always loved our neighborhood which is why we chose to only move a street over, but now it worries me too.
Thanks for the reminder on the doors.
And yes, I agree they were stupid kids.
I'm so sorry to hear his car was broken in to! I'm glad he wasn't hurt and nothing major was stollen, but still - what an invasion of privacy!
