My First Blog Design
Quite a few months back, my Sister and I discussed purchasing a custom blog design for our father for Father’s Day. He’s really into his blog and we thought he would enjoy and benefit from a look that better reflected him and the messages/opinions he was trying to portray. In the end we decided to give doing it ourselves a shot. She has an excellent creative mind and I have the Photoshop knowledge, as well as minimal html knowledge.
Yesterday, I was able to show him his new design and load it into his blog. It is something I am very proud of and I have been chomping at the bit for months to share our idea and my hard work with all of you.
Please pop on over to my Dad’s newly designed blog and let me know what you think!
Now my Sis has gotten me started on redoing her blog. I’ll let you know when that is finished! First I have to get Kayla’s invites done. I’ve been having a creative block…

I love it and I must say I enjoyed reading his blog as well.
Good luck Thursday!
You did a great job on this! I love reading your Dad's blog. Many times his thoughts and reasoning on some issue has made me think twice about something whether I ultimately agree or not. Very well written and intelligent man.
Wow, Sue! You did a fantastic job. I really LOVE it.
Your dad must be so happy! Looks awesome.
You'll have to let me know, what changes you made!!
Sue:
You (and Christine) should be proud of your handiwork. Much as I would have appreciated a "purchas[ed]...custom blog design" (as I do all of your very thoughtful gifts), I'm so glad that you decided to give "doing it ourselves" a shot. Having my own family-custom-designed website for a project so important to me gives it a meaning that just can't be bought…especially considering something as good or as appropriate for me is unlikely to be found anywhere.
So once again, to you and your sister, thank you.
Love, DAD
PS- And thanks for the free advertising (or is it free?)
Yay for us!! And you are so kind saying I have an "excellent creative mind" when you did most of the work. It was certainly fun collaborating, and when mom starts her own "Nanny-blog" we'll have to design hers too...
;)
It looks great! good for you on figuring it all out :)
